Chair Baumgardner opened the discussion on SB386. Tamera Lawrence gave a brief review of the bill. The Chair requested a motion to work or pass the bill.
Senator Straub moved, and Senator O'Shea seconded, a motion to work the bill.
Senator Sykes proposed amending the bill by striking on page 4, Section 4, having to do with school closings. Discussion followed.
Senator Sykes moved, Senator Pettey seconded, to adopt the proposed amendment. The motion passed on a show of hands. (Attachment 3)
Senator O'Shea moved, Senator Pettey seconded, to recommend SB386 as amended, favorably for passage. The motion passed on a voice vote.
